Soffits

UPVC Soffit is the term given to the board that is fixed horizontally and pinned to the underside of the roof rafter, this effectively spans the gap between the back of the fascia board and the top of the external brickwork.

A number of different syles of UPVC Soffit are available which can be used both in Refurbishment projects and in New Build projects.

Plain Soffit Boards

For use in both New Build Projects and for replacement applications, the plain soffit boards are an ideal solution to provide a maintenance free gap closer between the outer wall and the back of the bargeboard and/or fascia systems.

Where suitable ventilation to the roof space is already provided for, these multi-purpose boards provide an attractive, cost effective alternative to standard timber or MDF products. Where additional venting is required, these boards can be used in conjunction with a range of circular disc vents.

Usually stocked in White, Black Ash, Golden Oak and Rosewood, the plain soffit boards are designed to complement the chosen fascia or cover board range used in the particular application.

Vented Soffit Boards

I provide vented soffit which comply with UK Building Regulations by providing a 10mm wide air gap, this is the requirement for roofs with a 30° pitch and over.

These UPVC Soffit boards bridge the gap between the wall and the rear facing side of the fascia board effectively closing it off whilst also allowing air access to the loft space to prevent condensation build up.

Even where vapour permeable underlays have been used instead of bitumen based roof felts, it is still likely that the amount of moisture carried into the roof space will exceed that which the underlay can deal with at certain times in the year, this could result in damp insulation so vented soffit is an excellent solution for the eaves venting.

To match the replacement fascia and cover board ranges the pre-vented UPVC soffits are available in White and the 3 Woodgrains – Black Ash, Rosewoodand Golden Oak.

Hollow Soffit Boards

Hollow soffit is available in widths of 100mm and 300mm and due to their cleverly designed joint system can be fitted together to cover wider gaps.

These UPVC soffit boards are still a rigid board, but as they are not solid, they are a cost effective alternative to plain soffit boards.

As these boards have tongue and groove joints, which means they fit together edge to edge, they are also popular as cladding systems, having proven themselves to be robust and resilient.

As with all plastic soffit ranges, the UPVC hollow soffit is available in Rosewood, Golden Oak, and Black Ash as well as White.

The range is completed by a variety of trims for ease of installation and a neat finish.
